Electric Generator Science Project: Does the shape of the magnet coils matter?
I’m building a low RPM generator and seen many DYI projects videos online.
I have noticed they mostly use rectangular earth magnets.and use coils that are winded in a rectangular coil shape
I have ROUND earth magnets. Should I wind my coils in a circle shape instead of rectangular shape?
I’m assuming that having the coil match the shape of magnet means a more even magnetic pull on the coil. Am I correct in thinking this?
I guess my basic question is, before I wind all these coils, what shape should I wind my coils when using ROUND earth magnets. Circular or rectangular?
Thanks in advance!

i found a meteor in sf bay area…now what do i do ?
i was fishing and it was a little odd and outta place nothing else was around but dead yellow grass nothin but joe and the rock..them earth magnets go like ping when they hit they stick to it so its magnetic and i took it to the college and the astro professor looked at it and agreed it was in fact a meteor…now what how can make some $$$ off it…shit people are broke i need to sell it..lol
help buying rare earth magnets?

help buying rare earth magnets?
Well.. whenever i go the mall i always see those rare earth magnets. However, I feel as though they are cheaper, lower quality magnets. Im looking for ones of at least N42-N45 grade.
I dont know much about magnets, but do you know the quality of the magnets at the stores? I know N35 is a low quality, do you think thats the strength of the ones in a Brookstone?
Is there going to be a huge difference between a lower grade vs one a bit higher?
Im mainly looking for
-a place to buy/order strong magnets
-difference between grades
-if possible, the quality of the magnet balls (in a cube formation) are they typically N35?
Sorry for all the questions, thankyou
How can I accurately drill through a neodymium magnet?

How can I accurately drill through a neodymium magnet?
the magnet has a max pull of 110 kg
people have advised me to use a titanium drill bit but as they are all only titanium plated it still feels the magnetic pull,
Could you repel two neodymium magnets?

Could you repel two neodymium magnets?
Well, I’m going to get two neodymium magnets with the pull force of 1.6 lbs. I was wondering if I could put two north poles next to each other and I was wondering if it would repel. I was thinking if it can make an item float. This item would be a solar panel. For example, could I put a magnet on the solar panel and a magnet under the other magnet. Then they would repel and the solar panel will go up and stay in the air? I will put strings on the side so that it can’t go to the side. So will it work?
What happens if you put a magnet next to a solar panel?

What happens if you put a magnet next to a solar panel?
Well, I’m trying to make a solar car and I was wondering if I could use neodymium magnets as a base. So if I put it next to a solar panel, will it drain the electricity produced by it or will it enhance it? Also, what if I put a motor next to the neodymium magnet, will the motor not work? The solar panel is connected to the motor using two wires so…. Will it work?
By the way, the pull strength of the magnets is about 1.6 lbs.
Do you think this design of an emp generator would work?

Do you think this design of an emp generator would work?
“grab a tube of some sort(preferably not metal) wrap copper wire from one end to the other and connects the ends of the wire.
put a firecracker in the middle of the tube(possibly with a fuse sticking out of a small hole) and put a strong neodymium magnet on each side of the firecracker.
light it and run
but be careful pieces of the tube can come flying at you or you could get hit by the magnets flying out of the tube’s ends”
like do you think it would really fry all electronic equipment in a small area?
removing iron filings from neodymium magnets?

removing iron filings from neodymium magnets?
i dropped a neocube on the floor, turns out that the floor had iron filings all over it from god knows what. however, now there is iron between each of the 216 magnets, and apart from them being stiff and tough to work with now the iron grinds away the nickel coating. any ideas on how to get all the iron off? preferably WITHOUT detailing each and every single magnet.
Where can I get a neodymium magnet shaped like a 90 degree corner (with one pole on each end)?

Where can I get a neodymium magnet shaped like a 90 degree corner (with one pole on each end)?
Where can I get a neodymium magnet shaped like a 90 degree corner (with one pole on each end)? Or a neodymium magnet that is sorta shaped like a candy cane? Also, where could I get neodymium magnets shaped like horeshoes or a variety of other weird shapes? Please leave link if possible! Thank you for the help!!
