Anyone know any great obscure rock songs?

Recently where I live my classic rock station finally started digging up more obscure songs, certainly because everyone was getting sick of listening to the same play list for year after year. Here are some great, obscure rock songs that I have discovered:

- “Ezy Rider” and “Highway Chile” by Jimi Hendrix
- “Mr. Soul” and “Bluebird” by Buffalo Springfield
- “Open My Eyes” by Nazz
- “Monterey” by the Animals
- “Dancing in the Ruins” by Blue Oyster Cult
- “Dancing in the Moonlight” by Thin Lizzy
- “Ramblin Man” by Bob Seger (not the song done by the Allman Bros, completely different)
- “8 Miles High” by the Byrds
- Any early Deep Purple (like “Chasing Shadows”)
- Anything by Nektar
- Anything by the Sonics
- Any early Pink Floyd (from Syd Barrett up until the Animals album, though Dark Side is overplayed)
- Any early Yes (up until the Tormato album)
- Almost anything by the 13th Floor Elevators and Roky Erikson (“Dear Dr. Doom” is phenomenal)

There are some others, but I really would like to know if anyone else knows any good old obscure rock songs.

Ideas for art class project?

I have a few choices and a few ideas but none of them are really clicking and I can’t really think of anybody and I really can’t think of what exactly I want to paint. The whole story is as follows. For an art class I’m taking I have to choose an artist to imitate based on style, not a specific piece. I was trying to figure out who to do when I decided to glance at David Bowie’s album covers since they’re awesome. I had completely forgotten about the Diamond Dogs cover until this point and decided to look up the artist to see his other stuff. So I found out about him and I think he would be pretty cool to do. My idea is to do a painting of David Bowie and Annie Lennox on stage at Freddy Mercury’s Tribute Concert since they both looked amazing and their was such an amazing chemistry and the song, Under Pressure was amazing. I’m just not sure if this would be a good piece to do or if something else would be better. Also, I’m not sure if Peellaert used paint or pastels for the pictures of music stars like Tina Turner and jimi hendrix ones I saw on his site. If anyone knows please let me know since I really like using paint, usually oil, and pastels aren’t usually one of my favorites. Another idea I had was to take part of David’s song Five Years and turn that into a painting but use a different artist. Let me know what you think of my ideas and you can find the concert on youtube if you haven’t seen it. Any suggestions let me know too please.
