Do you think sueing Best Buy is the best option?

I have two Definitive Technology home theater speakers that I bought from Best Buy four years ago. About four months ago, I moved to Norway (Europe). So, I bought a couple of Dynex Converters/Adapters (They work as either one) so that I could use the speakers in Norway as well. The converters said they changed the input power (220 Volts) to the output power (110 Volts). Also, it says that the converter can hold up to 1875 Watts, and the speakers only use around 300 Watts. The speakers are bought in the U.S, so they use 110 Volts. Everything seemed to go just fine until i plugged the speakers into the wall and turned the power on. I heard a loud “boom” and the power went out. I knew at once that the speakers were broken.

The next day, I borrowed a voltmeter. I was shocked when I saw that the converters converted the 220 Volt wallpower into only 40 Volts! I have contacted Best Buy now, but they haven’t responded yet. Since I live in Norway now, getting new speakers wouldn’t work (unless they ship them from the States all the way over here), and they only sell Definitive Technology in the United States.

So, my question is, if Best Buy doesn’t come up with a good solution, do you thing I have leverage, and that I can walk away happy from a potential court case?
Thank you,
I appreciate it very much!
