Doxycycline for acne is (maybe) causing issues?

I’m 18, female, and used to take tetracycline for my acne. For some reason, my doctor decided to switch me to doxycycline (I believe she claimed they stopped making tetra, or couldn’t get it here anymore). What can I expect, switching over?

So far, I haven’t seen any major difference that I can, without a doubt, blame on the change over. I experienced blood in my fecal matter (red, not very much, but still a first and very weird). I’m not sure if this is doxy’s fault, or due to possible hemorrhoids?

I at first thought I’d gained weight; my stomach looks huge. But reading up on doxy more, it seems like it may just be bloating – many people say they’ve gained weight on doxy, and many others say they bloat.

If doxy is causing the blood, obviously I’ll get off of it. But if it’s not, but IS causing the bloating/weight gain (not sure which, have no scale, so I can’t tell), is there a way to stop it? I hate looking pregnant and bloated, and hate that I may be gaining weight. But I also hate nasty acne everywhere..
