Going to upgrade a squire?
Hey I am a fairly experience guitar player and my first guitar was a squire bullet strat. I have since obtained an Ibanez RGA32, as I was fairly into metal and hard rock when I got it. Since then I have started loving The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton etc. and have learnt several of their songs, but found my Ibanez had far too much gain, even when in clean on my Marshell.
So to the point. I was looking at buying a Fender American Strat when it occured to me I could just upgrade my squire. So even though the woods would not be anywhere near the same quality, I can upgrade it to have hardware as good as, if not better than, that of a Fender strat. I would change just about everything, leaving only the wood. The pickups, bridge, tuning machines, pots, strap pegs, even the pick guard, pickup selector and tone and volume knobs could be replaced. So I was wondering about what you guys think, whether an upgraded squire would be better, or an Fender strat.
