How to play backuped games in playstation 2?

I play a lot of burnout in my playstation 2. My disc has got a little scratched, and the game is skipping. This morning i cleaned it with toothpaste as shown in youtube. But now i don’t want to play with the original disc anymore. Can i write it in a dvd and play in my ps2? I know people say it needs modchip and all but i don’t know where to get it. Plus i don’t think i can have swap disc because it is a very new version of slim ps2, SCPH-90004. I won’t do piracy i swear, i just don’t want to destroy my game dvds.
And if you know where to get modchip in kolkata please say.
