How to use old TT with new DSi – R4 AceKard TT Cyclods?

i have a TT DS card with a 2GB micro SD card inside and was wondering how to get hold of the new firmware or what ever so it can be played on the new DSIs.

because surely there is no need to buy an entirely new card when a simple bit of software will allow it to work. unless there is some kind of chip in the card itself which is in the new generation of cartridges.
