Question on Energy levels and light.. please help!?
It says opticians use a dye to check the eyes of people who wear contact lenses. When blue light is shone on to the eyes, the fluorescein absorbs this and emits green light.
-state whether the frequency of the emitted green light is greater than, less than or equal to the frequency of the blue light absorbed and give a physical reason for your choice
It then says
Explain what happens to the electron as the liquid absorbs blue light and then emits freen light (and show on an energy diagram)
I’m really stuck. I know that blue light has a higher frequency than green light but thats about it and i’m unable to answer any of the 2 questions.
any help is much appreciated
Thank You
